Physiotherapy Education in the New Europe – Linking education, profession and employment

> WELCOME   The first European Congress on Physiotherapy Education is an opportunity to share with colleagues in a spirit of professional comradeship and friendship, research that cuts across education, professional practice and employment.   The programme will focus on the challenges within Europe between education and employment policies in the health sector.   There will be the opportunity to share educational experiences as well as present papers and posters on the key themed areas. The Bologna Process and its implications for physiotherapy education as well as strategies for bridging academia and practice will be discussed and analysed throughout the congress. Estoril Congress Center Come and meet colleagues face to face from Europe and beyond, share your experience and enjoy learning from your peers. Our hosts the Portuguese Association of Physiotherapists along with the European Region of WCPT have organised an excellent venue in Estoril with a programme of events to compliment the Scientific Programme that will ensure new friendships are made. You will bring your experience and enthusiasm to Estoril and take back to your own country new and innovative ideas that will inform your own learning and teaching practice and those of your colleagues. The conference is not only of interest to educators it will also be useful for managers and physiotherapists with an interest in knowing more about current developments in Europe and for those who want to explore opportunities for life long learning, professional specialisation, interdisciplinary working and new emerging career pathways.
